Sporty and exclusive: Sneaker presentation with PERSPEX®

British sports fashion retailer JD Sports, also known as "The King of Trainers", has a successful history of working with expert acrylic point of sale and display specialists Floreeda Fabrications Ltd, to create innovative in-store displays.
Renowned for being able to create ‘almost anything’ from acrylic, UK-based Floreeda partnered with the sports retailer to manufacture a range of visually-dynamic designs to be used in stores worldwide.
The displays were created using Floreeda’s creative plastics expertise and PERSPEX®’s extensive range of materials. The Floreeda team was able to use a range of colours and light-diffusing materials to create eye-catching designs for various trainers.
The range of displays included sophisticated glow boxes with five-sided illumination, and bespoke winners' podiums to showcase the latest footwear designs in store windows.
The three winners' podiums were made of glossy PERSPEX® Black 962 and placed on transparent coloured sheets with a fluorescent edge effect using PERSPEX® Fluorescent Acid Green 6T66 and Lava Orange 3T19. They were protected by transparent display cases made from PERSPEX® Clear 000. The material has an impressive light transmission of 92% – something that even glass cannot achieve.
The most technical design created by Floreeda was the men’s drop shelf unit, which used light intelligently to create a premium display. Designed as four shelves off a vertical beam of light, each level glowed when touched. Floreeda also used halo lighting to illuminate the shelves from all angles.
All manufactured and supplied worldwide from Floreeda’s factory in Stockport, Greater Manchester, the displays were an impactful collaboration between the innovative manufacturer and the iconic retailer. The displays were carefully designed to stay true to the JD Sports brand and creatively showcase its high-quality footwear.
