This week marks a milestone that is especially meaningful to us: exactly 20 years ago, during this very week, SMART-X® made its market debut at FESPA 2006, officially under the name FOREX®smart. The positive response from the market was overwhelming. When it came to lightweight design, weather and UV resistance, and excellent printability, the product made of impact resistant solid polystyrene (HIPS) with a core of expanded polystyrene, proved to be “a true frontliner”, as noted in our 2006 press release.

On this anniversary, we are proud to look back at the milestones that shaped SMART-X® into the product it is today and to celebrate the innovation and dedication behind its success.

From idea to innovation

The journey of SMART-X® began in April 2001 at our Neuhausen facility with the conceptual phase. What started as a bold idea quickly evolved into a technological benchmark:

These qualities have made SMART-X® a preferred and reliable material among customers, contributing significantly to its lasting success.
