SMART-X® – Amazing art exhibition at Guggenheim museum Bilbao
Estudios Durero, he Creative Industry for Retail, Art and Graphic Communication has created this year an amazing campaign for the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum and the exhibition of Yayoi Kusama “1945 to Now”.
The “Yayoi Kusama street marketing campaign” was a part of the water basin in front of the Guggenheim museum. To realize this impressive campaign with red color “dots” in different sizes, Estudios Durero worked with our SMART-X® material.
Why SMART-X®?
SMART-X® is an extremely lightweight foamboard with weather and UV-resistant cover layers in impact-resistant solid polystyrene (HIPS) and a core of expanded polystyrene which is completely insensitive to moisture. The sheets can be used in outdoor applications for a period of up to two years.
On top of that, SMART-X® is also an optimal substrate for direct digital printing due to its smooth surface structure and availability in large formats (up to 2 meters wide) and can be fully recycled at end of life, which was a requirement of the end-customer, to contribute to circular economy.
For the project, several 2x3 meter sheets were first printed (direct digital print) and then cut afterwards with CNC to create the final pieces. A total of 416 red dots have been installed in the water basin.
