FOREX®print – Barolo Wall Italy
The Barolo Wall – an urban street art installation in Barolo, Northern Italy. The installation is 100m long and tells a story in pictures which includes messages on the themes: equality, respect and social change. The different sections of the Barolo Wall focus on one subject area. The work of art is something very special and unique in Europe, which can be viewed/visited at any time.
The Municipality of Barolo wanted to keep the walls intact. And placing common posters was not possible due to the moisture in the wall and the permanent effects of the sun and weather. Therefore, FOREX®print, a white, fine rigid foam board made of PVC, was chosen as a substrate for the street art gallery. FOREX®print sheet material is specially designed to meet the requirements in the field of printing. The extremely lightweight sheet is outstanding due to its brilliant white, smooth, even surface which forms the basis for a perfect printing result, particularly for direct digital printing. Moreover, the material is weather resistant. It was high priority for the fixing of the printed sheets not to damage the wall as with graffiti or billboards. Thus, a special technique was developed for the installation.
