Festive sparkle: Christmas decorations made from PERSPEX®
We are celebrating 90 years of PERSPEX®. Each month of the anniversary year, we are presenting an example of an application of this versatile material. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Christmas is just over a month away. This pre-Christmas case study marks the end of our anniversary year, during which we presented a PERSPEX® application from past years every month.
The Conran Shop sells designer furniture and high-quality home accessories. In the past, Studio91 designers have used the PERSPEX® Fluorescent range to create Christmas decorations for stores in London, Paris and Japan.
These included 8,000 reindeer, stars, bells, angels, holly and snowflakes, which transformed shop windows and retail spaces into enchanting winter wonderlands. The fluorescent edge effects of the material were particularly striking. Eye-catching gift tags and 50 cm high, five-tier Christmas trees made from connecting elements were also produced for every Conran store.
Cutting Technologies Ltd, a processing specialist, carried out the laser cutting of the 3 to 5 mm thick sheets. PERSPEX® is known for its colour and quality consistency during laser cutting, so the process went smoothly.
